Senator Garret Richter Recap

Greetings, On October 2, 2015 Student Government met with Senator Garrett Richter. At the meeting Student Representatives had a chance to have a brief discussion with the Senator on how students can better connect with legislators. The advice given during this discussion was to simply look for the seasons that will enable the most involvement such as: elections, internships and major events. He also advised SG leaders to continue to build relationships with legislators. The senator encourages students to continue to engage within the community by mentoring future FGCU students and leaders. On behalf of the FGCU Community, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the Umpqua Community College family. It goes without saying that this tragic event is tough to recover from or even understand. We as students are all affected by these acts.
